CoSynk ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the CoSynk mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information: Email address and display name when you register.
• Check-in content: Text entries, mood selections, photos (up to 5 per check-in), and audio recordings you submit.
• Reactions and comments: Emoji reactions and text comments you leave on check-ins.
• Shared goals: Goals and goal reflections you create within a partnership.
• Partnership data: Invite codes used to pair with another user.

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: App activity such as check-in streaks, days active, and feature interactions.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and push notification token for delivering reminders and nudges.
• Log data: Error logs and crash reports to help us improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the CoSynk App, including syncing your check-ins with your paired connection.
• Send push notifications you have opted into (daily reminders, nudges, streak warnings, weekly recaps).
• Generate in-app insights such as mood trends, streak counts, and weekly summaries.
• Display milestone celebrations and journey recaps at streak milestones.
• Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
• Respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

With Your Paired Connection

The core function of CoSynk is sharing. Check-in content, mood data, reactions, comments, shared goals, and goal reflections you create are visible to your paired connection by default.

Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate the App, including:

• Cloud storage for photos and audio recordings.
• Push notification services (e.g., Expo / Apple APNs / Google FCM) to deliver notifications.
• Database and backend infrastructure to store and sync your data.

These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of CoSynk, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Check-in content, photos, and audio recordings are deleted when you delete the associated check-in or your account.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and secure cloud storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

CoSynk is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your Choices

• Push notifications: You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the App.
• Account deletion: You can delete your account from within the App settings, which will remove your personal data.
• Access and correction: You can update your account information within the App.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
